The Trust was officially launched in London on 25 March 1998 in the presence of the Prime Minister, The Rt. Hon. Tony Blair MP.

On this occasion the Prime Minister said 'The memorial which Raj is setting up, which is to help the children of poor widows in India, is something which indicates the very spirit which is at the heart of that success. It's a tremendous achievement'.

Edinburgh  
The Loomba Trust was launched in Edinburgh, Scotland by Sir David Steel, the Presiding Officer of the Scottish Parliament, at The Scotch Whiske Heritage Centre in Scotland on 26th June 2002. This overwhelmingly successful event was organized by Phil Myerscough, son-in-law of Lord and Lady Dholakia and attended by many generous Scots. The Trust was grateful to Cairn Energy Plc who sponsored the launch.

 

New York  
US Launch of the Loomba Trust at the 60th Anniversary Celebration of the United Nations in New York, in the presence of the UN Secretary General, Mr. Kofi Annan.New York - (October 21, 2005)

On this occasion Raj Loomba, Chairman said 'Our trust is currently focusing on widows in India, but we believe that this assistance should spread across the globe. We already have industrialists and corporations in Britain backing us. It is our hope that philanthropists from the United States will join us also. '.

The Trust also received the support of then the Hon' ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Atal Behari Vajpayee, who inaugurated the Trust in New Delhi on 30th March 1999 by lighting a ceremonial lamp at his residence. He expressed appreciation of those 'who take the campaign of education into their own hands, using their wealth for the benefits of others'.

South Africa  
The Loomba Trust will be launched in South Africa at a charity dinner, which will be held at the Johannesburg Zoo on the 23rd October 2006. The dinner will be attended by 500 guests, including Richard Branson and many dignatories. More information will be given nearer the time.
